Dan was super helpful and friendly! Had a possible leak in the back yard and he efficiently told me all the possibilities of what was going on. At the end of the visit he turned my stop and waste valve back on and the leak stopped. Fingers crossed it fixed the issue.

We had a scope of our sewer line completed years ago that showed a break. We were quoted $27k for the fix and weren’t able to afford it. We are under contract to sell the home now and of course disclosed this and needed to find someone trustworthy to complete the fix that would allow us to pay for it at closing instead of at the job completion. Rare Breed was recommended to us for specializing in this type of work. The sewer specialist, Dan, reached out to me directly and was willing to work with us on this. On top of that, he gave the most thorough explanation of all potential outcomes and cost and left me feeling confident that they were an honest and ethical company to trust with this giant job. Then the crazy happened…. we had it scoped for the buyer and there were zero issues with the line… the previous company had obviously showed us a fake video of another broken sewer in order to take our money. I am in complete disbelief. Luckily we don’t need their services, but I would recommend this company to anyone who needs this type of work or any other plumbing completed. Thank you Dan for caring about me as a person and not a paycheck. So grateful for the relief of stress. I worked with this company several times. I’ve had some much needed to work done by them. Replacement of a water heater, water softener, and a pressure reducing valve. I’ve known them to be honest and up front. They have always treated me well, and I have been happy with their service. I’m also a member of their rare breed plumbing program which is excellent. I would suggest the program. It has lots and lots of free perks.
I also hate to fill my soft water tank so I have them do it. It is totally worth it. They’ll take all the salt downstairs and fill the tank and make sure the system is working as it should. I would highly recommend them.
There are two core types of water filtration systems: point of use (POU) and point of entry (POE). An example of a POU system is an on-cabinet or under-sink water filter. These are more affordable in the short term but only provide you filtered water at that particular faucet.
POE or whole-house water purification operates between the main water line and your home’s plumbing system. This results in access to cleaner water throughout your entire home. It not only affects the water you drink and cook with but the water that you shower in and your appliances use. POE systems are more expensive up-front, but they tend to be the better value over the life of the equipment.
When shopping for a water purification solution, we recommend products certified by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF). The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) authorizes the NSF to set standards for water filters. If a product has the NSF label, you know it meets those standards.
Rare Breed Plumbing also installs water softeners. We’ll generally recommend a discrete water softener if you have hard water. It will extend the life of your water purifier and make it more efficient. It will also extend the life of other appliances, including water heaters, dishwashers and washing machines.
You should also be careful about setups that remove good minerals too. If you need only a water filter, we can help you avoid products that do. If you need a water softener, we can help you choose a system that adds back the minerals you need.
